Frequently asked questions
Where will Grace Point Preschool take place?
Grace Point Preschool is going to be held at our new location located in Middletown/Hunter
How old do children have to be to attend Grace Point Preschool?
Grace Point Preschool students must be 2 1/2 on their start date per our licensing through ODCY. Additionally, GPP requires that all children are fully toilet trained. GPP is designed to service children in the 2 years before they attend kindergarten.
What are the teacher qualifications?
It is important to note that GPP is a discipleship Christian community that hires teachers, aides, and other staff who possess a growing and transparent faith. Working in such a community requires that our employees work to model the seven marks of a Jesus follower.
All persons employed by GPP are trained Childcare Staff Members (CCSM) meeting the requirements of ODCY. This includes being certified in First Aid, CPR, Child Abuse and Prevention, and Communicable Diseases. Additionally, all CCSMs have completed a 6-hour Orientation to Child Care course and are required to acquire at least 6 hours of professional development each year.
What are the class sizes at GPP?
Grace Point Preschool recognizes that small class sizes are essential to early childhood education. Therefore, GPP aims to have small class sizes to allow for more one-on-one time with teachers and students. Our max class size is 1:10, which is below the state requirements. If there are children who are not yet 3 in the class, the ratio will remain at 1:8.
